The Josh Cellars Story
Josh Cellars was founded in 2007 by former sommelier and wine industry veteran Joseph Carr. He named the brand as a personal tribute to his father, Josh, a U.S. Army veteran, volunteer firefighter, and hard-working Vermont lumberjack.
Our Humble Beginnings
- The Inspiration: Joseph Carr and his wife refinanced their home to fund their dream of building an approachable, high-value wine brand.
- The Name: Carr’s mother suggested honoring his father by using his old nickname, “Josh,” writing it out in the signature calligraphy seen on our labels today.
- Early Days: Carr initially crafted the wine at partner wineries, selling his first cases directly out of the back of his truck.
Our Wine Portfolio
We offer a diverse portfolio of varietals spanning red, white, rosé, and sparkling options, sourced primarily from premium California wine regions.
Red Wines

- Pinot Noir: A lighter, elegant red showcasing bright cherry, strawberry, and dark chocolate notes.
- Merlot: A soft, approachable red highlighted by flavors of black cherry, plum, and warm vanilla.
White & Rosé Wines
- Chardonnay: A balanced, lightly oaked white featuring bright citrus, honey, and juicy peach.
- Sauvignon Blanc: Crisp and highly aromatic with prominent flavors of lemon, kiwi, and green apple.
- Pinot Grigio: A refreshing, light-bodied option focused on crisp citrus and stone fruit notes.
- Rosé: A crisp, summer-friendly wine offering delicate strawberry, citrus, and white flower aromas.
Appellation-Specific Reds
- Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon: Sourced from Central California, offering a jammy, full-bodied profile with notes of blueberry, dark chocolate, and structured tannins.
